Chicken Broth

One of the essential backup plans for meals is my homemade chicken broth. I’ll freeze them in my breastmilk bags (I bought a ton of them back in Bangkok) and each time I need to cook something healthy for Z, I use this.

  • 3 chickens (just the carcass would do)
  • 2-3 onions
  • 5-6 stalks of celery
  • 2-3 carrots
  • 1-2 Bay leaves
  • 6-8 peppercorns
  • 5 cups of water

I use a pressure cooker to cook for about 1 hour.

Cool and pack them into my breastmilk bags (I use Boots). Each batch I would have about 5-6 packs.

Each pack is sufficient for 1 meal for Zion.

Some meals include:

  • Chicken macaroni soup
  • Chicken porridge (just add the defrosted broth, 1 piece of chicken thigh, rice and some veg in the rice cooker)
  • Chicken / pork noodles soup
  • Chicken rice
  • Wanton noodles soup
